C.M. Muller, formed Video Security Systems in late 1999, after retiring from the Newark, Ohio Police Department in late 1998 after thirty years of police service.
During Muller's long police career he became acquainted with various methods for collecting photographic and moving image evidence for criminal prosecution. During the last fifteen years of service, Muller became very knowledgable in covert video techniques, as well as overt or "in plain sight" video installations.
The world of video image collection as employed by law enforcement, security departments, investigative agencies, and even the local convenience store, has literally exploded in the last five years.
In only the last two years, CCD cameras have dropped dramatically in size and cost. Also we now find ourselves in the midst of another revolution in video security. I.E. The change from tape based analog recording and storage to digital systems and Internet Protocol (I.P.) based digital systems relying heavily on internet connections and applications.
Upon retirement, Muller formed Video Security Systems (V.S.S.) with the aim of not only being successful, but in the process, making certain that every video system installed by V.S.S. would be as effective as possible in achieving the fundamental goal of video security - "Capturing and storing usable, identifiable, and relevant video imaging."
In the intervening six years V.S.S. has sold and installed dozens of customized Video Security Systems, large and small, analog and digital, multiplexed units and specialized night time installations, as well as both indoor and outdoor, and covert and overt systems.
V.S.S. sells and installs all major manufacturer's lines of video security equipment including, Pelco, Bosch (Phillips), Panasonic, Sony, Samsung, Toshiba, G.E. (Kalatel), and more. We also sell and install more economical smaller manufacturer's lines of equipment as well.
